Hilo Bay Café is located in a mall, and, yes, big stores are in plain sight, while beautiful Hilo Bay is miles away. The restaurant evolved out of a natural foods store, at one time located in the same mall. Long-term leases were signed, and that’s the dark secret. Once you’re inside the doors, however, you’ll forget the forgettable location. Maybe someday this gem will be on the bay.
